This review has been a very long time coming. I have had Rodial's Dragon's Blood Sculpting Gel for a couple of months now and have used it under my moisturiser most days. It is, in my eyes, an innovative product with some very bold claims. The Sculpting Gel promises to form a unique second skin like film around the face which protects, reduces redness and firms. It is a product that many swear by - in fact, I have only heard praise - and, of course, I simply had to get it myself. I admit, I am scared of the aging process but, on top of that, I do also suffer with quite persistent redness on my face so hey, reading the Sculpting Gel's claims I was convinced that this was the product for me. And, guess what, I was right.
I, quite simply, cannot imagine my life without this product anymore. It may sound a bit over the top, I know, but, seriously, if you are after some volume and definition, then this gel is the one to go for. It's got a beautiful, silky gel cream formula - it feels a bit sticky at first, though it sinks in within minutes and leaves the face velvety smooth. However, the best bit is that you can actually FEEL it working within seconds. The gel feels refreshing and slightly cooling and there's a tightening sensation that can be felt straight after application. I do not know how Rodial have done it, but I don't actually care either! I mean, this is the only product I have ever tried that actually feels like it's doing something in terms of toning and firming. Of course, I wouldn't say I instantly looked younger, but I certainly looked a lot more radiant and my skin felt tighter straight away (though not 'tight' as in 'dry' - more like 'defined'). It also reduces the redness significantly and makes my skin look so good I could skip the foundation and opt for a tinted moisturiser instead. Redness is the main reason why I wear foundation, but, recently - after almost two months of trialling this product - I can say I don't suffer with it anymore. Again, this is a miracle (for me, at least) and I credit Rodial's Dragon's Blood Sculpting Gel. I do switch between a lot of skincare products frequently (which isn't always the wisest thing but oh well) but this has been my trusty daytime serum for the past 7-8 weeks and I am planning to continue using it. I'd be stupid not to!
So is my skin more youthful and plump now that I've been using this wonderful product for nearly two months? Well, yes, yes it is. At 29 I don't yet (luckily) have any deep wrinkles and lines but I do feel like I look better and my face tighter. Sure, not everyone may buy into this hype and some may argue that the effects I am seeing/feeling may only be because I so desperately wanted this product to work, but... I am happy. This could, very likely, be the product that keeps me away from Botox.
The Rodial Dragon's Blood range is available to buy from here. I haven't yet had a chance to test out other products but I'll be looking into them asap. Oh, and the Dragon's Blood Sculpting Gel retails at £75.
